OFW Complains High Price Authentication Fee in Qatar

Qatar- An OFW recently complained in a TV segment called KSP Kulang Sa Pansin of ABS-CBN News regarding the high-priced Document Authentication fee in the Philippine Embassy in Qatar.

Andy De Leon, OFW,  said it cost him 100 QR or more than P 1,200 for each document, wherein he needed to process 5 authenticated documents for his brother who will come as Visit Visa in the said country.

Authenticated documents are required before it will be submitted to the immigration for visa grant.

According to Asec. Charles Jose spokesperson of DFA (Department of Foreign Affairs) said that the fees have not been changed for the past two (2) decades.

They charge a standard amount of $25 for every document authentication in all Philippine Embassies.

The fess collected are said to provide funds for government services and advised embassy officials to clearly explain the charges to OFW’s upon processing such documents.
