MANILA, Philippines – Manila North outlasted Manila West, 21-18, in an all-Filipino semi-final of the FIBA 3×3 World Tour Manila Masters Sunday, to advance to the Finals and clinch a berth in the World Tour Final in Abu Dhabi.
Manila North was led by Alaska standouts Calvin Abueva and Vic Manuel, who hit the big shots down the stretch to dethrone defending Manila Masters champions Manila West.
Terrence Romeo, fresh off winning the Shootout Contest, did his best to bring back Manila West after Manila North pulled away, but Manuel hit a reverse lay-up to clinch the victory.
Abueva scored 10 points to lead Manila North.
Manila North now advances to play defending champion NoviSad AlWahda, which routed Doha, 21-13, in the other semifinal.
