UAE- Residents will be expecting a short vacation this upcoming EID Holidays. Eid Al Adha or Festival of the Sacrifice is the second of the two religious holidays celebrated by Muslims worldwide.
As for the employees in the UAE, both public and private sectors will have a mini vacation because of this. Public sector will have 5 days holiday, while the private sector will have 3 days paid leave from the 9th of Dhu Al Hijjah to 11th of Dhu Al Hijjah. According to astronomical forecasts for 2015, the 9th of Dhu Al Hijjah (Arafat or Hajj Day) may be Tuesday, September 22. So, the private sector employees can expect Eid holidays from Tuesday until Thursday.
Luckily if the holiday falls on Tuesday, private sector will have an extended vacation including the weekends. Most residents are taking holidays out of country, either Europe or Asia destination.
Airlines have come up with special airfare promotions to keep up with the demand. Emirates airlines is offering special fares until September 10 for travel between September 3 and the December 10.
Etihad too is running a 96-hour seat sale in its economy and business class to some of their popular destinations worldwide. This sale ends today, September 3, 2015, for travel between September15, 2015 and June 30, 2016.
